BIOGRAPHY
Growing up in musical family in southern Louisiana, Kevin Hernandez began his love music at the age of three... treating everything around him like it was a drum. His first musical experiences include high school marching, the onset of grunge music, a home filled with the sounds of jazz, and working with adult musicians in a ten piece horn band at the age of 16.
During his formative years, Kevin studied with area heavy weight musicians such as Roy Hebert, Herman Jackson (Southern University), and New Orleans master drummer, Johnny Vidacovich.
In his early twenties, Kevin relocated to the southern region of Texas and began cutting his musical teeth playing five nights a week in local blues, rock and pop bands.
Over the past 25 years of his professional music career, Kevin as shared the stage with a number of big name artists, playing in front of 150,000 people, and traveling extensively throughout the region — as far as Los Angeles, California. Having the ability to harness his love for "the song" while on the drums, Kevin has found himself in the recording studio tracking dozens of albums with a number of notable producers who consider him their "first call."
Kevin, having developed a love for teaching and sharing his experiences with younger students, also maintains an active teaching roster.

My heart for people and love for drumming has come together in perfect ratio in church. Out of everything I have been able to do, nothing brings me as much joy as leading others in worship from the drums. It is an honor. It is a calling. My hope is to continue to use my gifts and talent — in whatever capacity — to bring joy and inspire others — and most importantly, bring glory to my savior Jesus Christ without whom nothing I have done would be possible.
