Similar to the Studio Line brass in vibrance, the Covent Garden concert brass speaks effortlessly and is extremely responsive and articulate. The tone of the Covent Garden concert brass is exceptionally warm in character and complemented by a balanced register in all tuning ranges, making it extraordinarily well suited for ensemble and symphonic applications. Configured with wire-wound silk cables and symphonic drum heads, the Covent Garden is full, rich, and exceptionally sensitive from rim to center. The tone is organic in nature, but remains focused and controlled at all dynamic ranges.
Once the Covent Garden shell is hand-selected, the bearing edges and snare beds are finished by hand in order to refine and optimize the sonic performance. Finished with a pure silver patina and heat-sealed in 100% Carnauba wax, the Covent Garden celebrates the legacy of vintage instruments highly prized by symphonic and concert artists.
The Covent Garden model design and hardware consist of 2.5mm solid brass bright nickel-plated single flanged hoops, ten solid brass bright nickel-plated Corder tube lugs, bell-flanged bearing edges, vintage-inspired crimped snare beds, 24k gold-plated brass JNDC feather motif drum badge, and the proprietary bright nickel-plated cast bronze JNDC “One Touch Classic” snare drum strainer (throw-off) system. A certificate of authenticity, serialized lapel badge, JNDC Strainer Tutorial DVD, and a complimentary embroidered soft shell case accompany each instrument. The JNDC Covent Garden brass shell model is available in 6.5x14 and 4x14 sizes.
